About YearlyCost
YearlyCost is a small, independent project that turns the official EU energy label into answers people actually need before buying: what a model will cost to run where they live, how it compares with similar models, and how long it must be repairable.
Every appliance, display and phone sold in the EU has to be registered by its supplier in EPREL, the European Product Registry for Energy Labelling, run by the European Commission. The register is public but organised for regulators, lists models by their technical numbers and gives no costs or comparisons. We take the public data, group colour and market variants that share one label, translate phone model numbers into retail names, add the household electricity price of every country from Eurostat, and rank each model within its type and size.
The site currently covers 104,011 distinct models (225,774 model numbers) in 10 categories from 3,636 brands. Data last rebuilt on 19 October 2026.
What we are not
- We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the European Commission, Eurostat or any manufacturer or retailer.
- We do not test products. Label values are as declared by suppliers; running costs are estimates based on stated assumptions.
- We do not accept payment to add, remove or rank models. If the site carries advertising or shopping links, they never affect the data or the rankings.
Corrections
If a model name looks wrong or a value does not match the label you have in front of you, please tell us. We can fix how data is matched and displayed; values in the register itself can only be corrected by the supplier.
